For agencies applying for HUD Continuum
of Care Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) funding in Detroit, the
process has two parts – 1) the local application process administered by
HAND and 2) the submission of the HUD application via HUD’s online
application system, e-snaps.
HAND Application
Process:
The 2012 HUD Continuum of Care NOFA process kicked off on
June 6, 2012 with the release of the 2012 renewal project application for
renewal Supportive Housing Program (SHP) and Shelter Plus Care (S+C)
projects. The renewal application materials were emailed to all renewal
project applicants on June 6, 2012 and renewal
project applications are due to HAND by 4pm on July 13, 2012. Renewal

HAND is holding a mandatory meeting for organizations seeking renewal or new
HUD Supportive Housing Program (SHP) or Shelter Plus Care (S+C) Program
funding on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The meeting
was held at The Salvation Army of Southeastern Michigan's Divisional
Headquarters, located at 16130
Northland Dr, Southfield, MI. All organizations seeking renewal
or new HUD funding were required to attend the meeting on June 13th.
Organizations that are interested in applying for new HUD
SHP or S+C funds were also required to attend this meeting and received the
new project application in-person at the meeting. New project applications are due to HAND by
4pm on August 17, 2012. As in past
years, new project applications will be limited to only funding Permanent
Supportive Housing (PSH) projects. New Project application materials can
also be found below.

submission
deadlines for HAND’s application process are
subject to change upon HUD’s release of the NOFA and the due date of the
Exhibit 1 submission. Changes in dates will be communicated to applicants
via email.

HUD Application
Process:
The HUD application process will begin
when HUD releases its 2012 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the
Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Programs. This section of our Funding
page will be updated once HUD releases the NOFA for the Continuum of Care
Homeless Assistance Programs.
